Historical Importance of Monument : 4th century CE Chinese monk, Faxian mentioned about the buddhist stupa. After collapse of Gandhara empire buddhist monuments were damaged and neglected till date., As per Alexander Cunningham the shrines are dated to be around 66 BCE. The Katas site contains the Satgraha, a group of seven ancient buddhist temples i.e. remnants of a Buddhist stupa.
